The ReadSpeaker Expanding Player implementation style displays a listen-button on your web pages. When the user clicks the button, the player, as well as a download mp3 link, is dynamically inserted into the page next to the listen-button. This way the full player and additional controls are only visible to users who actually choose to listen. It is also possible to insert advertisements or other messages to the user into the expanded area.
Key benefits with this implementation:
- Uses the latest web techniques for an optimized user experience
- Accessible and fully device independent (works also without Flash and JavaScript)
- Takes up little space on the website when not used
- Option for the user to download the speech as mp3
- Customize the service for a seamless integration
Embedded Highlighting Add-on (new!)
The ReadSpeaker Expanding Player can offer an add-on which enables website visitors to see synchronized highlighting of the text that is currently being read, on a word by word and/or sentence basis depending on the setting that has been chosen.
- Words and sentences are synchronously highlighted as they are being read, unless the feature has been turned off by the website visitor
- The visitor can choose to have the text highlighted either word by word and/or by sentence, or turn the highlighting off
The setting that the visitor has selected is saved as a cookie, so that the service will have the same behaviour when the visitor starts the service again.
Customizations
You can customize the HTML code that is dynamically inserted into the page to present a seamless integration into your website layout. You also have the possibility of adding HTML code to show advertisement banners or other information.
